Wanted: Budding Radio Star in Australia

We've received the following media request:

Hello! I'm from the Fox and Triple M radio newsrooms in Melbourne, looking to interview someone about how British Ex pats in Australia will be celebrating the Royal Wedding.

I'd love to chat to someone who can talk about what the feeling is among the ex pat community in Oz, what most here are planning to do to mark the occasion, if at all?

It would be a recorded chat over the phone, the comments used in our news coverage this week.

The newsroom number is 03 9252 1488 if you can help, we're here from 4am - 6pm aus time.

    Cheers, Carlie

theatre room!!! Bloody 'ell , you sure the reception isn't at your gaff?
BOT (i just invented that, it means "back on topic" - you can all use it if you like) Most people i know here are having a "do" for the wedding, the scandies are mad for it.

BOT....(did you see what I did there).....I think we should all get behind the happy couple after all its not every day history is made (plus I love a good wedding) I actually went on the official website last night and looked at the pdf document about seating plan/guest list etc..who'd have thought that would be made public? Times are a changing. Cant believe the Beckhams are on the guest list...her head will be the size of a bloomin football......what next Lady Beckham....

times a changing indeed, I remember me and me mates crowded a department store window watching a colour tv showing the silver jubilee.

We actually had a colour tv at home but i didn't like to admit it in front of my council house mates.

Same here Fi, lack of enthusiasm, like you I think it's a bit of history and we'll watch it (plus to see the dress of course), I remember Di and Charles getting married - such a big event in the UK. We've organised an afternoon tea at work, but it's more to have a longer break than to show any patriotism lol

I think one of my earliest memories is of a street party for th silver Jubilee, I was 2!

Am quite gutted my hubby said no way would he watch the wedding with me...I watched the dramatisation of their meeting last night on tv. Am getting quite excited for them now. I think its lovely. Hubby says waste of money. I think the people want the pomp and ceremony (some of the people anyway)
