Hi YummyBrummy
are you yummy? mmmmmmmm
My only experience of Dubai was passing through en route to France from Melbourne.
I have to say I found it a soul-less dusty hot place and dare I say it, the locals weren't very child friendly (I'm not a child, but my children are).
My wife had a fainting episode and we ended up at the emergency dept of a local hospital. Now, THAT was amazing, so clean, new and efficient, and we weren't charged ANYTHING for the ambulance ride, tests and treatment she had. The other thing which struck me was that ALL of the paramedics and nurses were Phillipino, ALL the doctors were arabs, and ALL the cleaners were Indians....weird
Yo Mind Less, sorry to hear your brevitous experience here was an unwanted memorable one and you're right about the Phillipinos and Indians. In fact Dubai is affectionately duped as 'Little India'. There's more of them than locals. Am glad your wife was well looked after and hope she didn't suffer too much trauma following the incident.
