Thread: Anybody out there???

Just wanted to say a quick hello and a quick run down. Would love to have some of that British humour around me again, so feel free to send me a post. I am now a resisdent in Australia, I live in Broken Hill, NSW, which is a small town and can be a bit lonely out here. There are some Brits around, but you dont see them often. I think they are all hiding from the local's haha. This place reminds me of Royston Vasey from the BBC comedy, League of Gentleman, as everybody goes around asking 'are you local' and if you aint they dont want to know haha. I am married, my husband is a 'local' but a good one, not one of the strange kind (joke). I am from Middlesbrough, north east england and i lived in London for 4 years in the east, before i went off travelling for a while. Hopefully I will find some fellow smoggies on here, but it does not seem likely. Anyway would love to hear from you all, with your stories, advice and how do you cope with the home sicknesses and feeling fed up from time to time?

I am so, so sorry to hear that you "lived " in London for four years. What did you do to deserve that? No one should have to do something so bad as that.
As for Royston Vasey. Sheena has got herself a bit mixed up. That's where she comes from, but she likes to think she's come from a few places a bit posher (at least that's what she thinks. Hampshire? Cornwall? I don't think so).
Oh, by the way, she'll kid you on that she knows me and used to live in the town next to mine. I play along with her sometimes, but it's just to stop her stalking me.
