Thread: Hello from Heywood,Lancs,UK!

Hi Everyone,
We are a family of six, Kate & Jay, Robyn (16), THomas (14), Caitlin (8) and Chloe (3).

We currently live in Heywood, Lancs but we're moving to Perth WA in September.

Anyone with similar plans it would be good to hear from you.

Welcome to Brits Abroad they are a great crowd on here full of information I,m sure you will get word from peole in same boat, just like you we hope to be off soon but all depends on house sale bad time at the moment as coming from Sunny Scotland its holiday time for us so don't expect much interest for a couple of months still keeping positive.
Hope your move all goes well for you in Sept

Thanks Jayne and Evelyn....We had a house sale nightmare, in the end we've had to take another house in PX just so we can go.Hopefully the £$ exchange rates will pick up in the future when it's time to move money...... Fingers crossed anyway!Cheers J&K

well the weeks are flying by...............perth here we come!
We're staying in wanneroo from sep 2nd. Still cant believe it!
Do you guys have an area in mind?

hiya guys ,,hows heywood am i missing anything ?,lol, we escaped bury 18 mth ago and havnt looked back,there are a couple of guys in perth there is also a website for poms in perth if you havnt already found it,lol,

Hello again

We are waiting for meds to clear, but agent said we should have the visa by end of July. Planning on being in Oz on 9th Sept. Will be staying somewhere around Joondalup area for the first month or so but haven't made ouri mnds up where to stay permenently yet - that will depend on jobs.
If all goes well and we are out there early Sept do you want to meet up? We have friends over there who we could introduce you too, might help you settle in easier making friends as soon as you get there.

Hi Cal,
Well Heywood and Bury are not so bad. The only things you're missing are maybe the countries daily stabbings and shootings, the glorious weather and also worth a mention is the immpossible costs of living in this dump!!

Anyway how's Jimboomba doing... some lads we know went stock car racing in Toowoomba... Not too far away.

Hello,

Looks like we're in the same boat! We have a short term rental but we have no idea where we want to settle.
Looking at the map Joondaloop is just accross the lake from wanneroo.
A meet up sounds like a great idea and i'm sure the kids will agree.
