      Hi

I am new to this site, normally post alot on another expats site, thought I would have a look here for a change.

We are hoping to go to Toronto, my husband has been offered a job there. We have recieved our LMO and accepted an offer on our house ysterday, so will be off soon!! - all a bit scary now

      Hi Jacqui,
Welcome to the site Im sure you'll enjoy it here and receive plenty of good advice,
As a expat myself I can also say yes it's scary when you first make that big step but trust me you'll soon settle in.
      Good Luck on the move.

      Welcome to Brits Abroad Jacqui.

Yes very scary making such a big move and a life change, meeting new friends and a new job but as Jenny says it takes time to get used to, good luck and please keep us posted on how you get on.

      Hi Jaqui,
Sounds like it wasn't your choice to move. It is scary, and also incredibly exciting! We look back on our first year and it was a steep learning curve but we wouldn't swap it for the world so enjoy the adventure and have faith that things will work out.

It wasnt my choice at all. My husband was head hunted and then offered an opportunity that all things considered we couldnt refuse. I will benifit in as much as I wont have to work, that gve me the freedom to come back to the UK to see my grandchildren twice a year and alco the money to fly them out.

Looking back over your first year, is there anything you would differntly? any tips and advise would be most welcome
