new to Brits abroad

Hello I am finglas,
This is my first time on Brits Abroad. I live in Crete.
I have joined Brits abroad to share experiences. I had a problem free move to Crete 18 months ago. My wife and i live in a quiet village, no Brits, the Cretan people are brilliant and have accepted us with open arms. They are caring and supportive. I will be happy to share our experiences re the move and living in Crete.

Glad to hear someone had a problem free move - usually it's the most stressful move you can make! I've never been to Crete but all those I know who have love it and would happily live there and they speak warmly of the locals. Sounds like you've found a nice place to be!

Had a couple of holidays in Crete many, many years ago. Nice relaxing place and the Greeks are just brilliant. I used to go to Rhodes quite a lot too. Both nice places.

hello,
Yes, very nice people we love it. we are the only non- Cretan in the area. Our neighbours are better than any neighbour in our whole time living in England. We overlook a beautiful bay, to wake up every morning to see the bay is unbelievable. I have to pinch myself to prove it is not a dream.

Hello,
Thanks for your welcome. Yes i always appreciate some people have difficulty moving but i can honestly say we did not have one single problem. I was lucky in appointing a brilliant lawyer, in Crete, she was outstanding and i felt totally safe with her which is undoubtedly a good start base. I can recommend her to any one considering a move to Crete. "Faultline" ? is that San Andreas ?
