      Confused!

      Hi!

      So here's my story.
I want to move to Victoria, BC. I'm 20 and my highest qualifications are A-Levels. When looking at all the routes to move out to Canada I find it's either the skilled worker route, having a job offer route or the whole family/spouse thing. Well I was on the Canadian immigration site and filled in a questionaire that assesed my situation and they replied and said the best route for me to take is the job offer thing.

My problem being I can't see myself getting a job offer? The only jobs I've had is basic waitressing/sales jobs. However, I'm a photographer. Since 16 I've shot weddings, christenings and various balls, and have very recently started a from home studio. I would love a career in photography, but am uncertain as I don't have the degree to back myself up as a "skilled worker". I would love to teach photography but understand that it involves a bunch of qualifications (which is just confusing, because I could spend years doing them over here, only to have to do the BC/Canadian equivilent).

So I'm really just unsure of where I'd like to go next.
I've always looked at taking a surf instructor courses, but then to apply for an instuctor course it would involve years of experience and ideally, I would like to be applying to move next year.

I guess I'm just looking for a big of guidance/where to go next if anyone could lend a hand?

I've also been told of family members out in Vancouver who could possibly help. And I should probably mention the fact I'd be living with my partner who's Canadian, if he could help find a job, then.. I'm assuming my application would be slightly more straight forward, having a job offer?

      Thanks for reading

Have you looked at BUNAC working holiday visas? Working Holiday Canada, Work Canada, Seasonal Jobs Canada These give you a 12 month open work permit. The visas cannot be extended but you can use the 12 months impressing an employer sufficiently to give you the job offer you need to apply for PR.

Technically you are supposed to be single.

I believe the next applications will be accepted in December this year.

Another option is spousal sponsorship. If you have been living in a common law relationship with your Canadian partner for at least twelve months he can sponsor you.
