Hi,
After spending quiet a while in America recently, and planning a six week trip next year to explore more of America, the idea of possible moving to America is starting to bubble in my mind again. I have lived in the UK all of my life, and travelled extensively.
I have about three GCSE in English, Maths and Media and a dozen college qualifications in Media, ICT, Communications, etc. and Mathematics. I have done a year at London Metropolitan University studying journalism and I have one more year left on my BA English degree. I have an extensive list of work experience from teaching, journalism and general work, i.e. retail and food.
I currently work for a website, I work as data entry specialist and a journalist. My partner also works for the website. My partners work position is full-time and my position is soon to be as well. We are paid a good salary, and we've got references. We hope within the next two years to have a large amount of savings to be able to help with our American dream (if possible).
My partner and I are both considering applying for permanent residency within the next two years, ideally the summer of 2015. However, as I have explained above, we work for a website. The website is a global company and we do have US residents working for the website. We were wondering how accessible is it to be able to gain permanent residency in the US with a transferable job such as the website we work for? Does the US class working for a website as a permanent job within the US? The owner of the website is based in Belgium, however, like I said, the website has workers from all over the globe.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who is able to give any advice, answers or general experience.
