Thread: Young Couple Looking For Advice On A Possible Move To America

Hi there, my boyfriend and I are looking for help/advice on how to go about moving to America. We live in Scotland just now and fancy a change while we're still young (20 & 21) and still have the motivation. I've looked up as much as I can online but thought it would be a lot more useful to get advice from someone who's already been through the process. As soon as we discussed it the first destination that sprung to mind was LA(!) as we thought it would suit our lifestyle best. We do have our beloved staffie so he will be coming with and have seen that it's fairly easy to take dogs abroad with you and there's seems to be loads of rentals that allowed dogs, a lot more than at home on the West Coast of Scotland anyway. Basically just looking for someone to breakdown and help simplfy things for us as there's so many things online it can be hard to get your head around. We're thinking of starting off by trying to stay for a year then seeing how we get on. I work in a cafe just now so I don't mind working in one or doing anything that pays the rent really, (within reason, ha!). My boyfriend is a commerical diver and would prefer to do the same overby but I know how difficult that could be.
