Thread: Moving from UK to USA

Hey everyone. How's it going with the thoughts on moving?

i am on my own with no skill. I really want to move to the states. I'm thinking Los Angeles at the moment.


I am am totally lost on what visa to apply for????? Do I go straight to permanent or something first !?

my plan is to move there and maybe flat share or hotel for a bit until I know what I want. I want to work out there and stay permanent. I have enough money for now about 30k.

What do I do how do I start this process what visa etc

any help would be greatly appreciated I feel so alone

My family and I have been offered the chance to relocate to Minnapolis from the UK.
I am 32, my fiancée is 31, our daughter is 8 and we have another one due in December.
I was wondering if anyone of a similar situation or who lives in Minnapolis can help us at all!
Firstly would it be better if we were already married upon moving to USA?
Where abouts are the nicest places to live?
(My partner works for Medtronic so would need to travel to work but we do not want to live in the main cities.)
We would love to live and find a happy, friendly and family orientated neighbourhood not to far out in the sticks though!
Also the schools around the best area? Which and where abouts?
Any advice really would be hugely appreciated as we are new to this!

Hey, me, my son and my husband are debating moving to San Francisco. Any help on affordable and nice living areas with good schools would be helpful if any of you are still there
