Would love to move to canada any advice please

Hi to everyone I am not new to the site, but I have not been able to post on here for about a month and half, I have really missed not being able to check out the site. It really is a great site . I am not sure if anyone will be able to help answer my questions but any advice would be really appreciated. My oh and I would love to move to canada, we have just found out oh trade is on the new 38 listed trades in demand the noc list. But not sure what to do next or where to start really. Is that good news to have a trade on the list and would we be able to get to canada if we can quicker? Not sure what to do next really would love to apply to go and work and live there but not sure what to do? Any advice or replys would be really appreciated.

Hi tim thanks for the welcome, we are thinking of going to british columbia, but if we could not get there we would consider anywhere in canada. Just like the lifestyle over there sounds great for children. I think anywhere is better than here at the moment . Just fed up of here now it has nothing to offer. The building trade has slumped and oh is in that trade so not much work around for him at the moment. We have a friend who is already over there and he has told us there is work out there. Just got to get there now.!!!!!!Fingers crossed. We would leave tommorrow.

Hi Del, whats your trade? we were feeling the same way as you about the UK but had fell in love with Canada a few years back and decided then that we wanted to move here.

My partner Andy has a trade and we went to a seminar back in the UK and signed up with a guy who sorts people out with jobs etc over here.

We started our immigration process off a few years ago and it does take time unless you are sponsored via a company out here which many do. This is the way we eventually went and within a couple of months Andy was over here and I joined him recently (November).

If you tell me what trade you're in I can see if the guy can help and pass on his details. anything to help.

      Cheers

Hi Tracey thanks for the advice. My oh is the construction industry, he is a steel fixer he also has a machine excavation ticket he has been in this industry for 24 years. I am a teaching assistant and have a NVQ 2 in this, if you can help that would be fantastic!!!! Just ready to leave now, apparently oh trade is on the list but you need a sponsor or a job offer. We have a friend who went to Vancouver 2 years ago and he loves it, he said it is fantastic for the whole family. Thanks again with the offer of help, really appreciate it. Thanks again

Has anyone been to any of the seminars in england??? If so how did you get on??? Are they worth going to??? Could you get a job offer, maybe if you do go???? Thinking of going to one to give it a try.

Hi del, sorry its taken a while for me to come back to you but Im currently searching for employment over here.

With regards to the steel work Im not sure that the guy my partner used to get over here can help but im not 100% sure. I know he deals with various trades as my partner is a plumber. With regards to being a teaching assistant all i can say is that on my work visa it states that Im not authorized to work in child care, primary or secondary school teaching or health services filed occupations so you may struggle with the teaching assistant role unless you are sponsored. This is the best route to gain entry into Canada.
With regards to the seminars in the UK, this is how we got to come over but be warned that there are alot of scams. Who is the seminar with?

Hi Tracey thanks for getting back to me. I did not realise there were alot of scams with regards to the seminars, so thanks for that. Emigrate 2 has a seminar and the other one is working in canada.com. Do you know anything about these, which one did you go to if you dont mind me asking???Yes oh is in the construction industry, he reinforces the concrete with steel before they start building in the ground, and also can drive the large machinery on the sites dumpers and dozers and other machines. Thanks for trying anyway.I will keep looking
